Jordyn Johnson’s journey to Alabama A&M University (AAMU) was rooted in her desire to embrace her heritage and find a community that reflected her identity. “I chose to attend an HBCU because I wanted to immerse myself in a culture that reflected my heritage and identity,” Jordyn explains. “It wasn’t just about receiving an education, it was about embracing a community where I could truly feel a sense of belonging. I wanted to experience firsthand the rich traditions, pride, and history that I had always seen portrayed on television but never truly felt until I became a part of it.”
